Upon the proposal of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Ukrainian CCI (UMAC), the Presidium of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry issued the decision “On Approval of the Recommendatory Lists of Arbitrators of the ICAC and the UMAC” No. 15(2) dated 14 December 2023 that approved the updated UMAC Recommendatory List of Arbitrators for 2024 – 2028.
Currently, the UMAC Recommendatory List of Arbitrators includes 30 qualified experts in the field of international maritime law, reputable scholars and practicing lawyers from 7 countries.
The UMAC Recommendatory List of Arbitrators includes experts in marine vessel chartering, sea and river transportation, vessel towing, marine vessel sale and purchase, vessel pledge, sea and river insurance, pilotage, agency services, bunkering, and wreck recovery, vessel collision, damage, repair, maintenance and technical supervision, use of marine vessels for mining, hydraulic works, fishing, port operations, general accident, ship salvage, container transportation.
What’s new?
Expanded geography of arbitrators. For the first time, the UMAC Recommendatory List of Arbitrators includes arbitrators from Austria, Armenia, Moldova and Turkey.
Specialization filter. The UMAC website now offers an option to filter the list of arbitrators not only by language and nationality filter, but also by specialization (13 specializations).
